Your Morning Cup of Links: S&P Downgrade Edition

Unless you are hiding under a rock, you know there has been some noise in the markets the last few sessions (down 14% over the last 11 sessions as I write this).  In my last blog post (Debt Ceilings, Deficits, and Down Trends: The Best Advisors Put Market Events in Context), I discussed ongoing communication as a key for successful advisors in volatile times and even provided some tools to assist.

Unfortunately, things are moving so fast right now, many of you don’t have time to sit down and write a long “stay the course” letter or mail out the tools I attached (especially if you have to go through your BD’s compliance dept.). Clients are looking for you to provide answers or just some reassurance today. If you haven’t already, it’s time to hit the phones!

It is times like these that we all earn our keep. One of the best techniques for calming frazzled nerves is to have some strong sound bites and facts from resources that you know and trust.  Below are links to articles that I have come across that may assist you in your upcoming conversations.
