Your Turn: Lead Me to Your Favorite Leadership Book

In last week’s post I talked about our latest work book club book. It may not come as a surprise that I am always looking – some may say begging – for great reads. This week, I put that pressure on you! What are the best books you’ve read on leadership?  (They do not have to be business books).

I won’t settle for silence! I need at least one suggestion from each of member of the community. Share with me….throw me a bone, friends. I am trying to compile a list of leadership books that shaped people into the leaders they are today.

I’ll go first.
The book that has had the most profound effect on me as a leader is John Kotter’s Leading Change.  It helped me realize how important it is to frame activity; not in the way I see it, but the way people will be able to understand it, and hopefully get behind it. He made it easy for me to see that leadership equals change, and change is a process. I apply the lessons from that book to every aspect of my life –  at home, at work and in the community.

Your Turn
What is the one book that stayed with you and shaped the leader you are today? In the spirit of the holiday in front of us, I would be so very thankful to hear your thoughts

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families, I wish you a wonderful holiday season!
